Mysuru take home their 7th win

Continuing on their winning streak, Mysuru Warriors enter the Semi-finals winning all their 7 matches in the group stage. The Warriors sent Nammashivamogga packing by beating them 33 runs via VJD method.

This match was one that NammaShivammoga had to win if they wanted to stay in the running for the Trophy. Shivamogga lead by Stuart Binny fell a little short as the Warriors ultimately needed 1 run in 21 balls when the rain started coming down.

Mysuru won the toss and decided to put Shivamogga out to bat first. Shivamogga set out in hopes of taking home a win and tying the net run rate and entering the semi-finals. The ball just did not seem to click for Shivamogga as the opening partnership of 42 from 36 balls between the youngsters Pradeep Gangadhar and Nikin Jose seemed to be their only partnership.

Suchith, did what he is known for and spun the ball to pick up two crucial wickets making it a total of 13 wickets to get the Purple cap. Gowtham also picked up two wickets in his 4 overs. Along with Vyshak and Koushik who picked up wickets each. The warriors were ultimately able to restrict NammaShivamogga to a total of 125.

The men in Yellow came out onto the field and immediately had an impact with the bat. Though opening batsman Arjun Hoysala had to depart early, Raajoo Bhatkal stepped up to the plate and scored passed the half century mark and made 83 runs in just 68 balls. A much needed partnership came between Raajoo Bhatkal and Anirudha Joshi, who made 31 in just 20 balls, which was enough to take the Warriors home.

The Warriors were off to a fantastic start and were keeping up to the run rate that they needed to get their seventh win in a row. On a sunny day that was making the audience feel like they were in an oven, no one expected the rain to come pouring down. The gods managed to send their showers down at the perfect time when the Warriors were just 1 run away from a victory.

With the rain not coming to a halt, the umpires decided to use the VDJ method and the Warriors won by 33 runs. The warriors played a fantastic game and they now enter the Semi- Finals with a lot of confidence to take on any team, as they had already beaten every single team once in this competition
